Day 51 - Lorella Springs (Wed June 13th)
We had a lazy morning floating around the hot spring, then, after lunch we went and checked out some of what Lorella Springs has to offer.
We signed the register at the homestead, got some directions and drove about 4km to the Ink Spot Waterhole for a refreshing dip. The water was chilly compared to the hot spring back at the homestead, the kids were reluctant to get in, and needed some coaxing.
Then it was back towards the homestead, taking a right turn which took us to Emerald Pools for another refreshing dip. This road was quite rocky, so needed to take it slow as some of them looked pretty sharp! After a 200 meter walk we came across this little oasis, we could see why they call it Emerald Pool.
Its State Of Origin tonight - Go Queensland!!
They had get together at the homestead and showed the game in the bar. Campers all bought a plate of food, it was a huge yummy feast, which we enjoyed by the fire. They had Lorella Springs beef, and someone had cooked a whole queenfish, the food was awesome. It was great to meet and chat with fellow travelers.

We managed to watch the start of the footy before
the kids faded and turned into monsters, they were so tired and needed
their beds. They did manage to squeeze some marshmellow cooking in though
by the large communal fire.
