We, Damon & Tracey, are planning a trip across Australia with our 2 kids Cameron (2.5 yrs) & Sienna (4 yrs), we'll be travelling in our trusty 2009 Hilux and will be towing our Camprite TL8s camper trailer.
We are hoping to leave our home town of Airlie Beach in Qld no later than the 1st May 2012, maybe earlier depending on how long the wet seasons lasts.
I work away from home in the offshore oil & gas industry and have been lucky enough to take a 7-9 month break from my work to accomplish this trip, it's going to be great to spend all day every day on the road with my family. Tracey is a full time stay at home mum so her job continues as we hit the road, only change is that home now becomes the Camprite wherever it may be set-up.
This trip has been a dream of ours for the last 2 years, ever since we put the order in for the Camprite, and now finally 2012 is upon us and we are nearing the start. The kids are starting to understand we are going on a big camping holiday and Sienna looks at a big map of Oz we have on the wall and can pick out different places we will be visiting, I don't think she and Cameron really understands just how big Australia is just yet......
