Day 68 - Lee point Caravan Park to Shady Glen Tourist Park (Sat June 30th)

Today we did the big move from one side of Darwin to the other! We booked into our cabin at 2pm this afternoon, the kids have been excited about this for days.

Yesterday was another clean up day, the car went in for a service, Damon washed the camper, and I did some washing. After lunch, we all enjoyed a swim in the resort pool.

This morning, before packing up, we went to the Parap Markets. They are held at the Parap Shopping Village every Saturday morning. As soon as you start to walk through the markets, you can smell all the wonderful food. We had a savoury crepe for breakfast, which was delicious, then we had a quick walk through the all the different stalls. A lot of the stalls are also at Mindil Beach Markets, but it was still nice to wander through.

After packing up camp, we had about 4 hours to kill before we could check into the cabin, so we cruised around Darwin.

The weather was gorgeous today, the ocean was calm with only a slight sea breeze. The sun shining, without a cloud in the sky, and a perfect temperature. We drove into Darwin via the coastal drive past Rapid Creek and Nightcliff, it was beautiful.

We had to stop and take a photo of this cool mobile cafe at Nightcliff. It's called the Box Jellyfish, and sets up in the Nightcliff Pool carpark overlooking the ocean. There are funky colourful beanbags on the grass in the park, overlooking the ocean, which is where you sit and enjoy your weekend breaky. They are open every Sat and Sun 7am-12pm.

We continued on and ended up having a nice coffee at the Boat shed Coffee house at Cullen Bay.  For lunch, we had fish and chips in the park along the Darwin Esplanade. All of which made for a pretty expensive morning of take away.

We checked into our 1 bedroom cabin, which is $195/night. They stored our camper for us which was great, as there was no room to park it next to the cabin. Everything is a bit tight at this tourist park, and it's full too. The cabin is pretty good, small, but clean and modern.

Damon took Cam to the Speedway for a boys night, which he loved! But after a while, he asked Damon "can we go back to the cabin now"
